Penguin marine engines were initially manufactured by Chapman Engineering Pty Ltd of Sydney. Production began in about 1939 and the firm came out with a parallel-sided water jacket until 1947. Production was then carried out by Power & Head Pty Ltd. Sydney, who modified the water jacket into a tapered design that could be removed for cleaning.
Technical Specifications: 2-stroke, single-cylinder in two sizes 3¼hp and 4hp. A two-cylinder version was also manufactured which was rated at 8hp.
