The McDonald PB engine is modelled off the Swedish Advance hot plug, 2-cycle engine. They were initially brought out as a model P in 1930 but with a Manzel lubricator, enclosed governor and improved porting, it was changed to a model PB in 1940. Most were built for stationary applications but some were fitted to McDonald 5- and 6-ton rollers while 50 were supplied to the Australian Government for WW2 usage. Production was discontinued in 1958.
Technical Specifications: Single-cylinder, horizontal 2-stroke diesel. Bore 6” and 8” stroke producing 9-11hp at 500rpm.
