Lister Model D - c. 1940

LISTER MODEL D ENGINE – c. 1940

English Flag

The Lister D came in 1hp, 1½hp and 2hp versions depending on RPM and flywheel size. They are popular with engine restorers owing to the price and availability of parts. It had one short coming: excessive water temperature under heavy load. This was rectified with either a radiator (as per display) or separate cooling tank. They also came in a kerosene version, the model DK, which would be started on petrol and switched over to kerosene when hot enough. Production ran from 1926 till 1964.
